3rd Wildebeest Migration Crossing

October 1, 2016

This morning Clifton and I went on a morning game drive and had a picnic on the banks of the Mara River. It was such a peaceful setting. We watched hippos play while we ate a delicious lunch set up by our guide.

Just as we finished our lunch, we saw wildebeest “building” on the opposite bank. We found a position and waited. We were rewarded with another epic crossing. On a sad note one adult Wildebeest was caught by a croc.

The croc had his back leg in his jaws. He put up a great fight, but in the end lost the battle. Our guide told us that the Wildebeest’s leg was most likely broken and he would not have survived even if he had managed to escape the jaws of the croc.
