Chincheros

June 24, 2019

Our first day in the Sacred Valley was a very full day. We were picked up by our driver and headed to Chincheros, a typical Andean agricultural village where women display their textiles. We were welcomed with coca tea while the women demonstrated washing, dyeing, spinning, and weaving alpaca wool using local materials to create all the colors for their dyes. There were many hand-made textile products to purchase from local vendors. We also fed grass to the alpacas and resident guinea pigs. After purchasing a few hand-made textiles from the woman we headed to Moray.
