We switched things up a bit, which was possible because we had a private driver. We wanted to see the village of Maras and Maras Salt Pans. To reach the salt pans we drove to Maras Village. We decided to get out and walk the narrow, cobblestone streets to the main square.
We passed colorful doorways, lots of blue doors, framed with intricate stonework. At the end of the long, narrow road we came to the town square. The Plaza de Armas had a monument of a couple of peasants and a mule. Below the statue, there are images of Moray, the salt pans, and the church of San Francisco.
